Demand for Turkish property among foreigners increased by almost 25%

By the end of 2021 a new record is expected in Turkey for the number of real estate sales to foreign investors. Estimated revenue could be around $7 billion. In the first 5 months of this year almost 16 thousand objects have already been sold to foreign investors in Turkey, which is 24.9% more than last year for the same period.

Statistical forecasts

Experts note that the growth in demand for housing in Turkey among foreigners has been observed for the last 5 years. Each year, the country manages to break its own previous record:

• in 2020, more than 40 thousand residential real estate objects were sold to foreigners in Turkey;
• in 2021, a figure of 50 thousand housing objects is expected.

As for buyers, this year the citizens of Iran are most actively buying Turkish real estate (as in the previous year). Iraq and Russia are in second and third places. There has also been an increase in demand for housing in Turkey among US citizens.
